What peace of mind would you have if you knew for sure?  If you could know that when you die, you will continue to live forever?   Actually, this is a fact.  No person stops “living” at death.  The body dies, but the soul, the REAL YOU, the personality,  continues because it is an eternal component of every person.    The question is, where does the soul, that person go?    The facts and evidence of this are available and solid, and need to be  examined.  There are only two destinies after life on this earth.  We either go to be with God or we go to a place of separation from Him, a lost eternity, also known as Hell.   Every human being is born in separation from God.

God has made a plan for us to be reconciled to Him before we die to ensure that we will go into His presence into Eternal Life, not eternal death.  However, we need to believe Him and trust what He had done to make this possible for us.

First – the BAD NEWS!   And then the GOOD NEWS! 

The Bad news is that every human being, every soul born, is born with the problem of sin.  We are all sinners, not one human born is righteous enough to go to Heaven.  We are born with sin and we cannot fix it.   Only God, who made us can fix this problem, and that is why we need to go to Him.

Rom 3:10-12  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  (11)  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  (12)  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

BUT!   God loves us and made a way for us to be cleansed of sin and made righteous in Him.  That is why the Lord Jesus Christ came to die for our sins, so we could be free (saved by GRACE), completely forgiven, and receive the GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE.

Rom 3:22-24  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:  (23)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  (24)  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

How do we get this gift of eternal life?

God says it is a free gift – not by our performance or religious behaviour.   Our own works can never qualify us  for Eternal life.  We have to have perfect righteousness to enter Heaven.  When the Lord Jesus Christ came to this world over 2000 years ago, He died in our place and gave us the position before God the Father of perfect righteousness.  It is a gift of GRACE – undeserved mercy to us, because He loves us.  Read WHAT GOD SAYS:

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us…..

Eph 2:8-9  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  (9)  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Gal 1:4  Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Rom 5:8-10  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.  10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Rom 5:18-19.  Therefore as by the offence of one judgement came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  19  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

All we can do is BELIEVE what God says about how to be saved from our sins.  Believing is called FAITH.  It is absolute trust and confidence in God’s instruction to us.  Just believe!

Act 16:30-31  And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  (31)  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

The moment you trust God that the Lord Jesus died for your sins, was buried and rose again on the third day, God performs a miracle in your spirit and He saves you.  It is not what we do, but what He has already DONE!  There is nothing you can “do” to be saved, (believing in the Lord Jesus is not a work), and there is nothing you have to do to KEEP your salvation, and there is nothing you can to lose that salvation after you have trusted Christ as your Saviour.

Eph 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
1Co 15:3-4  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  (4)  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Rom 8:37-39  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  (38)  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  (39)  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
